Adding code during print N2

Postby pwheller » Thu Apr 27, 2017 11:05 am

Is it possible to add code to middle of print after layer "Z" to increase/decrease a nozzle temperature and turn off one of the nozzles once no longer required?
I am trying to reduce oozing, by reducing temperature of one of the nozzles when not required.

I actually got it to work well.
left nozzle black, right nozzle yellow, was getting oozing on borders and 25mm offset ghosting on yellow as the black was only a detail in the middle of part.
I start off with temp on L-Nozzle at 160
Find where the black started printing by searching for T0 and after T0 add a new line M109 T0 S200, which sets temp to 200 but waits till temp is achieved before doing so.
Because my black detail is only 2 layers worth, i search for T1,T0 then T1 which is the last start of yellow, now before T1 add a new line to reduce temp back to 160, M109 T0 S160, this will wait to cool down then will print yellow, just make sure you add line before T1, else it will print remaining in black till T1 is called again.
You can add the temp change in all nozzle changes but could take a while, or could write a Visual Basic script to add lines for you.

This could be just what I need. Can you just clarify for me - are you printing this item with the black detail in the first 2 layers or the last 2?

Sorry for late reply.
I start off with the left extruder (yellow) doing the raft and first pass of yellow, then turns on and waits for right extruder (black) to get to temperature, prints black detail, prints second layer of yellow then black, switches off the black and waits to cool down then carries on the rest in yellow, no black oozing!
