ideaMaker 2.4 release notes - where are they?

Postby tja » Sun Jan 15, 2017 9:51 pm

Hi

Is anyone else having trouble reading the release notes for 2.4? The link for the release notes on the download page just skips through to the home page for me.

Why isn't there an official sticky for 2.4 here in this board, it's been out for a few days now. The manual doesn't help, it's still at version 2.2.3! I'm not nagging, I'm just curious, ideaMaker is an excellent piece of software, lightning fast and does just about everything I need.

One feature I did notice, you have added a setting for extrusion width. How can the printer adjust the deposition width? When would I need this setting and what are the ranges?

Thanks

It's strange, I can check the release note on our website.

Sorry for not releasing the detail release note and user manual yet. We will make it up as soon as we can.

For the extrusion width, that is for calculating the width of lines.
Use 0.35mm as an example. If the real extrusion width is only 0.35mm, but you are using the default 0.4mm extrusion width. Then ideaMaker will define every line has 0.4mm width space to lay down. But it cannot reach this width. Then you will see gaps between lines.

Hi Vicky

Thanks for the explanation, but how would anyone know the 'real extrusion width'? It seems to me that it would be difficult to measure. So is this setting a workaround for the machining tolerances for the nozzles?

Back to the website issue - I'm having trouble navigating around your site. Several links, such as in the wiki, just flash through the target page and end up on https://www.raise3d.eu/. I have tried this in Chrome & IE on my pc and also in Safari on my iPhone.

For that setting you don't need to check the real width very carefully to match this value to reach the same level. It is for adjusting the moving path when you find obvious gaps between lines.
It is not only for hardware but also a lot. There are a lot factors will affect extrusion width, like the distance between nozzle and build plate, filament expand due to heat, too fast moving speed and so on. It is fluid, hard to make it such accurate.

Vicky,
Please check the wiki page.

Some links are missing, - Mechanic Tips. and Software Tips.
Other links pops up for half a second on the correct page, but then seems to jump further on to

I am in Denmark.
It seems that accessing the pages via a proxy server in the US works fine, for example through this:

Hi Vicky, still the same problem. Selecting the Ideamaker release notes momentarily displays the release notes and then returns to www.raise3d.eu

WiKi pages now works in raise3d.eu, but the ideaMaker release note link still doesn't work.
Maybe because the link is to something on raise3d.com domain:

Vicky,

I'm in the UK.

On the WIKI page:
Mechanic Tips.
Software Tips.
Print Defects.
All have no link.

On the Ideamaker page and the Download Center page:
ideaMaker Release Notes
does not work because it links to http://www.raise3d.com/pages/ideamaker-changelog and gets instantly redirected.

These are all I could find with a quick look around, hope that helps.
