Linear Advance / K-Factor support?

Postby stewart » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:45 pm

Does the N2's Marlin support Linear Advance / K-Factor adjustments? I'm getting over-extrusion in the corners from either missing or mis-configured K-factor.

Thanks

I looked through the Raise3D code on Github and the current Marlin code on Github and the answer is no, which is extremely unfortunate.

Are there plans to update the controller firmware with a more modern version of Marlin at some point?

inline gcode tuning of k-factor is critical to address different filament types and the fact that each extruder has a different length between the gear and the nozzle. so even if you hard-coded a k-factor in the firmware, it would only work for one extruder and filament type. regardless, the implementation in the version of marlin used by the N2, when enabled, is faulty.

Half year has passed by. Is LIN_ADVANCE supported now in the official builds?
when not: why?

using custom builds is gotten pretty dificult in the mean time due to the risen variety of setups. eg my printer is a raise3d N2, bondtech extruder, right nozzle removed, with official filament out sensor and thermal runaway protection board.
finding a custom firmware which supports LIN_ADVANCE and my printer by accident would be pure luck.

Soo, any from the official accounts on this topic?
Is there support on the roadmap?

We currently doesn't have any clear plan to start testing or developing this function.

Ok, thanks for the feedback.
I keep my fingers crossed that we'll get this feature eventually :)
