Bad quality of impression in some areas and noise

Postby AFTECH » Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:32 pm

Hello everybody

I've got a problem with my Pro2 plus, the nozzle seams to touch the part during printing
The distance between nozzle and plate is 0,25mm and i've got no problem of warping from the plate.
But after the raft impression the nozzle seems to touch and scratch the part during impression making a strange noise.
And when i want to print a spherical part i've got half of the part with a very good result and the other half of the part with lots of imperfections.
I've tried resolutions from 200 to 10 microns and i've lowered the speed and the temperature.
I'm using the OEM filament PLA Premium White.

Does anybody had the same problem ?

Thanks in advance

Here is the gcode for the impression of the sphere in 50microns

Seems you are not currently using the default slicing profile.
Would you like to test once with standard settings profile to see whether the nozzle does the same or not?

Hello thank you for your answer.
I've changed some parameters because of these problems.
The only parameter that i've changed from the beginning was the extruder width that i changed to 0.4mm instead of 0.5mm for the different resolutions.
A higher extruder width gives better results ?
I'm printing the same sphere in 100micron with the default slicing profile right now, i hope the result will be good.

Did you see the video that i've posted ? The noise is a "normal noise" during printing or not ?

Thanks in advance for your help

I've got the same problem on the same area using the default slicing profile.
I also changed the material: ABS instead of PLA and i got the same result and same problem.
I don't understand why a simple spherical part doesn't print correclty and why always on the same area.

The noise sounds abnormal. Would you like to run a test printing which is sliced by us?

Hello
Thank you for your answer.
I've tried to print it but ideamaker told me that the dimensions of the printer in the gcode are not those of the printer (i think the box is for a pro2 and my printer is a pro2 plus).
But i've launched the print (the only difference is the global height of the printer) and the raft was printed about 3cm on the right of the center of the plate with the right extruder and then the box started to print with the left extruder on the center of the print.
I didn't had this problem for dual extrusions.

That should be my bad. I must change some nozzle settings from default.
Would you like to try the following new one?

Hello thanks a lot for the file.
I've printed it here is the result.

Yesterday i've try to print the sphere with the right extruder and the result was not perfect but better than with the left extruder in 100 microns.
But when i want to print with 50 microns the print gets a lot of scratches.
Can you make me a gcode in 50 microns for PLA please ?

Another thing is a few weeks ago, before to do the firmware update (the firmware didn't yet exist) for my first trial of dual extrusion, the nozzle hurted the plate by 5mm (the Z sensor was overriden i don't know why).
My dealer told me it was not a big issue but now i see more and more problems and perhaps the nozzle are damaged or the X and Y rods can be a little bit misalined.
I also made measurements on the buildtak: a 0.2mm just slides below the nozzle on the front left corner but on the rest of the buildtak i can slide an 0,3mm gauge below the nozzle.
0.1mm of planeity on the buildtak is a normal measure ? My dealer told me it might be normal but he also told me that the noize in the video was normal for him so i have more and more doubts.

Yours faithfully

I will suggest you to try to calibrate the bed levelness until it fit 0.2mm feeler gauge.

Attached one 0.05mm layer height print test for you.
