Nasty noise on first Home XY

Postby jerteach » Mon Apr 03, 2017 1:51 am

Just unpacked my N2 last week and did all the unpacking steps correctly but when I homed XY, the hot end moved X first and made about 8 loud clicking sounds. Then homed Y and everything has been fine ever since. Anyone have any idea what the nasty sounds were and was that normal because it made me panic a bit.

It may have been twisted a bit in shipping - those rods are amazing springs! Mine were visibly bowed until I recentered the pulleys

Does the noise happen when print head almost reach to the left rear corner? Or very far to the corner?

It only happened once on first startup, when the print head reached the x endstop so that would be the back left corner. Machine seems fine now, just was really loud and made me panic and look for a emergency software shutdown, (which obviously I could not find since their isn't one). It was about 8 loud clicks, took about 2 seconds, and then it was done.

There may have something block between print head and the frame at that time.
If you find such problem later, please shoot a ticket to our ticket system.
If you want to carry out an urgent stop, please directly switch the main power.
