today i intentionally let my printer run out of filament at the start of a big print, just to see how the printer behaves.
i noticed a few things:
1) as i was trying to unload the filament, nothing happend - the filament was already unter the gears of the steppermotors! (i had to pull it out manually with tweezers)
2) after loading the new filament, the printer started a few lines after where he stopped before (or more corretly - where he run out of filament)
in previous prints i often noticed one thing - when i want to stop a print, it often takes very long until the printer actually stops printing. i think this is the cause of my problem.
when the runout sensor tells the printer to stop, the printer needs too long to actually stop printing!
thats because the filament was already unter the gears, and a few lines where "printed" without filament actually beeing extruded.
is this a common problem?
can we fix this stopping-problem where the printer doesn't immediately stops?
