The block is cross drilled so it goes in one side, back, across and forward to the front then out. You can see the gap at the front? That slit goes back to the 6mm hole and allows clamping on to the throat tube, so the water route must be a "U" profile. Extremely effective. Possible that aluminum would work adequately, but I was going for broke and copper has far better heat conduction.

Did you ever get any interest in getting these blocks produced? I am experiencing similar struggles to what you have described and my current cooling setup is no where near as elegant as adding waterblocks. I would be interested in purchasing two. I would only need the blocks and what size barbs you are using.
