Material i Bondtech when taken out of box what is it and how to deal with it?

It looked like there was filmanet in the bod tech when I got it, it this just to separate the gears in storage and transit, whould it be removed or run through, is it PLA or something else? Should I unscrew the spring bolts and use tweesers to pull it out... etc please

Haven't seen this being mentioned in Bondtech's documents.
As long as not connect extruder motor to power, the motor is not enabled and locked, should be able to pull the filament out directly.

Ours was the same. Figured it was a test piece but it also could have been for protection of the gears as you suggested. I just unscrewd the spring and removed it with tweezers before mounting. Been working great!
