No material sticking, cleaner nozzles. Other words.

One of the benefits of the hotend covers should be to prevent excess heat affecting the printed part as it prints, particularly where there are fine layers, for example at the top of a cone. There are some early posts somewhere on the forum with pictures that explain this better.

Since I have not been able to obtain the R3D covers yet, I cannot confirm first hand that they do actually work.

I have them on my N2+, I pre-order the caps and camera back in July but also ordered two replacement V2 complete hot ends a couple weeks back as spares which came with the caps already included. They work good, can't complain. I have printed ABS/PLA/PETG and NylonX, all saw little to no random strings that would regularly pop up during prints.

Is there any estimate on when these are going to ship ?
I ordered them about a month back, have an order # and email.
The website still says "Available for pre-order".
Help ?

"...anyone tried these?"

Few people have been able them, as R3D hasn't bothered to ship them yet, unless you buy a new hot-end. They keep coming up with excuses, but these are almost as long overdue as the mythical cameras.

We have already started shipping from last week and hasn't completed all yet.
Once we finished all the shipping of all the preorders (should be within this week), we will change the status of preorder on website.

Vicky, I received my tracking info for the camera and Silicone covers on the 6th but as of yet UPS has not received them to further tracking. I called shipping but no response after leaving a message. Was the label just printed prematurely last week to actually having them go out or is there another issue?

Order #7744

Just checking because the order I had the week before shipped the day of receiving the tracking info and was here in 3 days.

Would you like to recheck again after today if you have a minute? As far as I known, we should have already arranged shipping for the majority of pre-order of these two parts this week.
If the shipping information still haven't been updated, please PM me your contact number. I will contact the shipping team to reach to you.

Finally received the silicone covers yesterday. It certainly has been a lengthy process to get R3D to ship them.

They fit and work fine - you can actually touch a 205C hotend (briefly) without burns.
