File export

Postby reblacklaf » Thu Jul 27, 2017 3:24 pm

I just downloaded this and have not had time to thoroughly learn the package. I like many things I have seen. However; I did load a small file and tried to save it but it only allows *.idea saves. Is there a way to save the gcode? I don't always have a computer available to run the printer as it is in use elsewhere much of the day.

Sorry, I did not slice the object. I was used to the other slicers automatically slicing for you.

Yes, you can save the gcode. Yes, you can save the STL.
First load an STL model using import.
Then orient it as required on the build platform.
Then hit the start slicing button
Export gcode.jpg

Then select your correct printer type, the filament types, and the profile you want to use, then hit slice in the lower right corner.

This will slice the STL and generate the gcode. You can preview code from this menu first, then close the preview, or just export it either way. Again, export is how you save the gcode.

If you want to save an edited STL, you can simply choose that from the menu too.
Export STL.jpg
