Re: pivot changing

Ok now I see, thanks for the vid. I agree that to change pivot to center of the selected object is a great idea.

which temperature reading is correct?

just curious, when I set temp of the extruder in home screen and it reaches temperature, I then go over to the load screen the temperature is a few degrees C out and I have to wait until it gets in range. Which temperature reading is "correct"? The print seems to start when the readout on ...

Re: Weird first layer print behaviour

you may have your z too small. FWIW I suggest always add a skirt making it easy to check bed leveling and first layer thickness and adhesion.

also if you have a dual head, make sure that this isn't the 2nd head nozzle dragging

Re: Issues with long prints

you may have an isolation tube mess with filament sticking to the sides without a complete blockage. This is more likely if you have drilled it out. Heat up to 250C for an hour, remove the nozzle, then repeatedly pass the 1mm wide wire down from top to bottom through the hotend/isolation tube assemb...

Re: Full maintenance teardown - what should I replace/upgrade?

i'll post an stl for a new breakout board tray that is on cold end. The current one has thermocouple wires coming in from below and making a hard right turn at the connectors = poor design and will eventually break the thermocouple wires. My mod has wires coming from beneath. If you don't have the v...

try printing warmer, also that huge fan will likely mess up your printing.

Re: Standard R3D PLA

the answer is that you need to find them out yourself. Each printer, each printer head and each type of filament are different. You also need to make adjustments among different rolls of the same filament! Some parameters help for overhang (print faster with cooler temperatures) some make a better s...

Re: Need help Truing the bed N2 plus

I am sorry to say that the only way I got my bed level was to modify it to be a spring mount with thumb screws. The mods are discussed deep in the forum someplace.

Re: How to quiet Noisy Fans?

That is odd, my fans are quiet enough that I don't hear the printer when more than a meter away. Noctura fans are amazing for my PC. You may also want to re-design the fan shroud, it is rather crude and is going to increase noise since the airflow is not laminar. The powersupply fan is ducted but yo...

Re: Urgent! Blob of PETG all over Extruder, Print head, and Wiring (pics attached)

is your isolation tube loose?? Did it leak out the top of the block?? If so, that is something that you need to learn how to fix before using again.

Re: Dual extrusion prints

I find the biggest difficulty is in aligning Z on the 2 heads. The set screw that holds the isolation tube has a cupped end. THerefore when you tighten it bites into the metal and raises / or lowers it as you turn the set screw. I find that I get best results by careful eyeballing!

Re: Travel moves through open parts

no, add on a throwaway piece, eg a cylinder outside the build piece, also select a point on that for force layer change.
