Re: Storing Filament

I use pickle buckets with the tops replaced with the screw-on ones they sell at Home Depot and some bulk floral desiccant in a perforated tube (e.g., http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:571505).

Re: N2 Cover

I designed a simple spacer with the idea of mounting hinges on the back and pneumatic springs to hold the lid up and allow it to soft-close. I haven't finished the hinge and lid support part but I'll upload the stl for the spacer soon. It offsets the protruding top edge to the inside of the top cove...

Re: forums search function

@Derek, have you deleted and recreated the index after changing that setting to 0? I think a disadvantage of setting it to 0 is that the index becomes larger and search takes more resources. Another thing to try would be to set it to a higher number than the default (5). For example, if you set it t...

Re: forums search function

This seems broken again. For example, when I search for "firmware" I get a "too common" error.

Vicky,
Would you mind sending or posting the DXF (or other vector format) files for these? Thanks.

Isn't the S3D license non-transferrable?

The version of S3D released yesterday claims to support the Raise3D machines. Has anyone tried it yet?

Re: Bed Leveling

Thanks Vicky, but my plate is easier to install and remove without clips. I just lift it out or set it in, but it's held securely on the sides. I just need to be able to use the full-sized plate, which is the reason I came up with the idea for the mod mentioned above. And as for the insulation plate...

Re: Bed Leveling

I'm not currently having a problem but I have a super early bird N2 and I'm concerned that at some point the original screws will short out the board. Rather than swap in the nylon-tipped screws, I'm considering Andy's mod, and I'm thinking about an additional mod that could be done at the same time...

Re: heat bed

Vicky, even with the nylon-tipped screws, two issues remain: - since there is no added FR4 board, there is no heat insulation underneath (which probably means slower bed heating) - I'm already using vinyl electrical tape to electrically insulate the clips. The adhesive fails when it is heated and pr...

I mentioned this to them at Maker Faire. I just Google'd it and it looks like the common words filter can be disabled:

Re: Filament Calibration Encyclopedia

This has been suggested before, starting on the previous discussion board. I agree that it would be great if it could be more of a community-editable reference document, like RepRapWiki, rather than just a sticky on the discussion board or a wiki that's not community-editable, like the one on this s...

top-mount LED strip light

I made some adjustable brackets to mount a nice LED strip light to the top left shelf. I've been using this for weeks but just now got around to publishing it on TVerse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1578279

Re: what happened to the the Official Raise3d Camera?

I got a wide angle lens for my Mobius Actioncam and I'm playing with that. It's very small and easily fits inside the printer. However, the instructions recommend keeping temperatures to 47ÂșC or below, so it's probably not a good choice for printing high-temp materials with the printer fully closed....
