Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

working on the process for this. I had to create a clone of marlin 1.1.0, which I still had on the harddrive. then created branches off of that so the changes could be viewed. will have to see what they think. a lot will likely have to be redone for marlin 2.0.x

Re: E3D v6 Adaptor

my question on the type was because we ideally want to match what is already existing on the printer. I guess I could test it out. the E3D page for the heater cartridge states this. 12v/30w: 5-6 ohms 12v/40w: 3-4 ohms 24v/30w: 19-24 ohms 24v/40w: 9-12 ohms I'll have to grab my multimeter and see wha...

Re: Thermal Runaway Error in standby?

I did a pull request to merge the corrected code on GitHub. so if they merge the corrected code and release the firmware, it will finally fix the problem.

Re: Firmware for dummies?

just to point out that Raise3D firmware 1.1.6-rev1 is based on Marlin 1.0.1 or maybe 1.0.2 so no, that firmware does not have LIN_ADVANCE in it. But the good news is that the unofficial firmware based on Marlin 1.1.0 is located here. https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series-Unofficial or ...

Re: E3D v6 Adaptor

Which heater cartridge do we need? I know it is 24v but the 30watt or the 40watt?

Is the premium heater one to be looked at?

I am building an order for the parts I want.

Re: Thermal Runaway Error in standby?

raise3d should be able to just put these files into the firmware. https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series/blob/1.1.7/Marlin/temperature.cpp https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series/blob/1.1.7/Marlin/temperature.h I created a new branch and does pull request for these to be mer...

This is when I started working on the debugging code and fixed this issue. we were on firmware 1.1.5 at the time.

I actually posted my debugging code in this thread. at least parts of it.

Re: Thermal Runaway Error in standby?

To note, I wrote massive debugging code back when this happened to figure out what was going on. part of the solution was to introduce the tr_target_temperature[heater_index] into the code base. BUT the raise3d 1.1.6 firmware does not do anything with it at all. It is still solo using target_tempera...

Re: Thermal Runaway Error in standby?

This happened because the code for the thermal runaway in 1.1.6 was not done correctly. please see this file in my 1.1.7 located here. https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series/blob/1.1.7/Marlin/temperature.cpp the code from 1.1.6-rev1 is as folllows. temperature.cpp line 1066 void thermal...

The forums have been hit really bad by spam a number of times in the past. It is nice to see that a system has been worked out to solve it.

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

I made an feature request in marlin to find out if they are willing to work with adding support for the printer/touchscreen into marlin. There is a major drawback, that being the touchscreen. The issues I foresee is that since the touchscreen is closed hardware/software and also only available on th...

Re: Touchscreen Firmware 0.9.2 Release Note 2017.06.22

I would have to ask in the marlin firmware if you can set each to different values. Likely the raise3d 1.1.1 firmware based on 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 can not do it. There are factors that can effect them so they have different values. insulation of the hotend, different nozzles, cooling affects on the cold ...

Re: RINGING the electromechanical challenge

My next question is, which firmware are you guys using as well?

That may also have a major impact on it. there could be changes in the newer firmware I did based on marlin 1.1.0 that effect things.

Re: RINGING the electromechanical challenge

actually I had emailed Jetguy asking would there be any benefit to switching out the rods on the N2 to carbon fiber rods to decrease weight? His reply was No, #1 it's wear surface. Either the linear ball bearings in the center cross will destroy the surface leaving tracks or the outer ring of slidin...

Re: Recommended Ideamaker settings for Trinus

over/under extrusion is a different issue then layer height. Stepper motors naturally want to hold at full steps. But we are using micro stepping. .07 is a full step on the trinus. This is why we want to set the layer heights to a multiple of that number. flow rate on the filament settings is where ...

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

sorry for the long delay. I haven't really been working on the firmware. It is based on official marlin 1.1.0 are we talking about Offical Marlin 1.1.6 or raise 1.1.6? When I was last looking at updating it past 1.1.0 all the patched things seemed superficial and would not effect the raise printer. ...

as a trinus owner myself. It was my second printer after the N2. you want to use layer heights of .07mm, .14mm and .21mm due to the thread pitch on the machine. let me see what else I can dig up as well

Re: E3D v6 Adaptor

my question is, is there for just an adaptor or for a fully adapted E3D v6? It would seem to me that you would want to replace the heater cartridge because the current one would stick out too much. I can admit that I would be interested if only for the ability to have the silicone socks. better part...

Re: RINGING the electromechanical challenge

so they are saying that the over all weight of the print head, rods, and everything effects how fast you can go. what are the dimensions of our rods and would replacing them with Carbon Fiber rods be of benefit? What can be done to reduce the weight of the print head carriage block itself? different...
