Re: Heat bed temperature anomally

First off. The motion controller board is an Arduino board. an ATmega 2560 RUMBA (R.eprap U.niversal M.ega B.oard with A.llegro driver). http://reprap.org/wiki/RUMBA So you just connected the bed temp sensor from one Arduino to another Arduino. The Marlin firmware running the RUMBA Board is compiled...

Re: PID auto tune right nozzle failed.

that firmware actually is almost a year old now and while it does have a bug. which has a pull request sitting to fix it. reading back what you are describing seems to be an issue where it is reading the data from the right thermocouple intermittently. example. you heat the left side up to 200 degre...

Re: PID auto tune right nozzle failed.

if you were to use a gcode file to send this line

M303 E-1 S60 C8

it will look like the primary extruder (the left one) is heating to do PID when it is actually the bed.

Re: PID auto tune right nozzle failed.

does it always happen when you try to do PID on the second extruder? btw, the process for the Auto PID on the raisetouch sends the data as if it was the primary extruder even if it is the second one or even the bed (which can only be done if you use a gcode file to send the gcode for it.) the second...

Re: PID auto tune right nozzle failed.

I am not saying how it should work, if temperature was running away, I would make sure your cable is connected mini board. as that seems to be a sign of cable coming loose. which can cause a thermal runaway on our printers.

Re: PID auto tune right nozzle failed.

just to note, the printer does not support independent PID for right and left nozzle. That is an advanced feature in newer marlin that even i haven't looked into setting up.

Re: startup issue with S3d gcode (Edit: appears to actually be random hanging)

as best I can tell, because the raisetouch sent the M105 command. It got lost. M105 is going off all the time anyways. the raisetouch is streaming the gcode to the motion controller. the motion controller is sending feedback via the ok line to let the printer know where it is. since the printer has ...

btw ABH, you need to uncomment this line if you want actual BEDPID, otherwise setting bed PID don't even matter.

//#define PIDTEMPBED

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

and to note, I hit another wall due to no c or g compiler on the printer. I'm ready to just get a 7 inch touchscreen for my second RPi3 and make a replacement box for this pcduino. I just need to figure out how to get a battery for the pi or use the existing one. I have an extra from my dead touchsc...

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

that is one way to do it but ideally the goal would be to get support for the raisetouch added into marlin itself so the work doesn't have to be redone. it's all good. I also made a repository here. https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-1.1.x/tree/raise3D-1.2.1.1 that allows it to be compared to marlin...

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

the unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1 is marlin 1.1.x (1.1.0) located here: https://github.com/Firesped/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series-Unofficial I order to bring it up today with marlin 1.1.x (1.1.6) I need to get my printer working so I can make sure I can output serial data to compare I've already loo...

as far as the thermal runaway bug, I already posted a fix to be merged to raise3d 1.1.6 firmware. this firmware is based on marlin 1.1.0 and has all the new features. my current issues at the momment are in order to work on bring it up to marlin 1.1.6 (not raise3d 1.1.6) I need to have octoprint to ...

personally I'm looking at getting the parts separate because i'm not sure which parts I want to get. There are multiple directions to go. you could just buy a standard kit. you could buy standard parts or you can buy the premium parts.

Re: I’ve bought thermal insulation sheets and kapton tape. Now what?

While you don't have to calibrate it and it will work with the pre-loaded PID settings. Those settings are not optimal in the first place as they are based on kickstarter machines and the printer has moved far past that point. Ideally, you should run PID Autotuning when you insulate the hotend as yo...

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

if I can figure out the changes in 1.1.6, I can update it. I'm looking at doing it diffirently that will allow it to be persistant and more customizable without having to change core code.

Re: Air Prints

hard to say without more information. If your extruder is stock, likely it is not grabbing completely onto the filament you are using and it is causing a pressure build up in the hotend.

The first question is, is your filament grinding at the gear?

Re: Marlin 1.1.0 Unofficial firmware version 1.2.1.1

working on the process for this. I had to create a clone of marlin 1.1.0, which I still had on the harddrive. then created branches off of that so the changes could be viewed. will have to see what they think. a lot will likely have to be redone for marlin 2.0.x

Re: E3D v6 Adaptor

my question on the type was because we ideally want to match what is already existing on the printer. I guess I could test it out. the E3D page for the heater cartridge states this. 12v/30w: 5-6 ohms 12v/40w: 3-4 ohms 24v/30w: 19-24 ohms 24v/40w: 9-12 ohms I'll have to grab my multimeter and see wha...
