Hardened nozzles

I am considering trying some PLA with embedded carbon fiber, stainless steel, and bronze (from Proto Pasta). I understand that these filaments are more abrasive than regular PLA, so I should replace my nozzle with a hardened nozzle. Any recommendations for nozzles that will fit in an N2+?

Re: PVA (Flex Filament) and Pro2 Serie ?

@Rogman: I have printed with PolyFlex without a problem. I have been unable to use PVA as soluble support for PLA on the N2+.

Re: PVA (Flex Filament) and Pro2 Serie ?

I have never been able to print successfully with PVA on my N2+. If anyone else has, I would appreciate understanding how you did it. This is my main frustration with the N2+

I, too, would appreciate a more specific explanation about what you found and how you would change the design.

Unloading PLA from BondTech extruder

I never had a problem unloading filament with the original Raise3D N2+ dual extruder, but I have to pull the clear plastic tube out of the BondTech each time I unload PLA. It seems that there is a small blob on the end of the filament that is difficult for the BondTech to pass, and I cannot pull har...

Re: PolyFlex not loading after PLA

This is the cold pull. It looks quite a bit different than the pictures in the cold pull articles.

Re: PolyFlex not loading after PLA

I did another cold pull and managed to get not only the extruder chamber, but also some of the extruded filament to come out. After that, the PolyFlex started to work properly. I guess you have to get the hang of the cold pull, and know when to use some muscle.

PolyFlex not loading after PLA

This is my first time with PolyFlex. I removed the PLA, did a cold pull with PLA, and then tried to load the PolyFlex at 245 (per @Julia Truchsess). All I get is clicks from the BondTech extruder. When I return to PLA, it extrudes just fine, so there is no blockage. I assume that there are dregs of ...

Re: Relese-Notes for IdeaMaker 3.1.5.1762?

Thanks. I guess IM is unable to figure out that a new release is available, so we should check manually?

Re: Relese-Notes for IdeaMaker 3.1.5.1762?

When I run IM 3.1.0 I am told that it is the current release. Is 3.1.5 a Beta release? Should we upgrade to that now? If so, where would we find it?

Re: Reprint Last Job

@vicky: If I allow the bed heater to turn off, the bed starts to cool. The bed heats to around 40 fairly quickly, but it takes much longer to get to 100. So if I allow the bed heater to turn off while I remove the build plate, allow the build plate to cool a bit, remove the printed part, and return ...

Reprint Last Job

After a print completes, I am offered "Reprint Last Job". By the time I take the build plate off, let it cool, remove the part, and replace the build plate, the build plate heater is often down to about 50. If I need it to print at 100, I just lost some time, because it takes quite a while...

Re: Spiral print rough on one side

@Julia Truchsess: I agree. The two prints were sliced with different templates, of course. The high quality of the front of the print and the tear outs on the back of the print remain mysterious. If the temperature and feed rate settings were wrong, I would have expected the front of the print to al...

Re: Spiral print rough on one side

@detroitus, @vice chief: The hot end cooling fans are in operation, but I blocked the cooling vents at the bottom of the hot ends, because neither T-Glase nor PC like being cooled. In addition, since the defects are on the back side of the print, they are neither closer to nor farther away from one ...

Spiral print rough on one side

I've printed this object before, and it printed fine. And the section that is rough is vertical, so the shape should not be a problem. One side (the side away from the main door) is rough and has tear out, while the rest of the print is pristine. I am now using the BondTech extruder, but have no rea...

Re: Coasters

@EldRick: it is interesting how differently many of us experience things like adhesion. I have been happy with both BuildTak and GeckoTek. Turns out, for the record, that this may all have been due to my not paying attention. I switched from PLA to PC and closed all of the doors and the lid, but fai...
