[FEATURE][IM-3.0.4]Temperature Control List format change

Title: Temperature Control List Description: Change in the format Version: 3.0.4 Operation System: Windows10 Reason: Easier entry, easier reading, and making more sense The "Temperature Control List" is a nice feature, but it is not easy to use and a pain to read it easily. 1. The layer sh...

Re: Importing filament profile

If I change a nozzle from, say, .4mm to 1mm, then I have to change the Printer Type profile to match its Nozzle Diameter. In fact there is a problem in that the same diameter applies to both nozzles even when 2 extruders are specified. It would be easier if the setting was in the filament profile be...

Importing filament profile

It appears that ideaMaker still does not easily support changing physical nozzle sizes (like 1mm and 2mm nozzles). So I create a new printer type with all the same values as the standard N2, but with different nozzle sizes. Problem #1: None of the filament profiles show up. Okay, the extrusion width...

Re: automatic shutdown at end of print

For about the same price as Fritzdect200 you could get an old Vera (or most any) home controller and a smart outlet. Each additional outlet is about $30, so it immediately becomes cheaper when used with more than one printer. It does not have the problem of unwanted shutdown (like during firmware up...

Re: Incorrect "Model out of range" error, and bad image

I could not get around the error message without moving the whole object back without the XY bounds. . It should not generate that message for XY out-of-bound when it is below the bed. It is convenient to just print the top portion of an object when a print fails, because then I can lower the alread...

Re: Incorrect "Model out of range" error, and bad image

Negative Z is okay. It is the X and Y that is wrong. If you take your example boat and move it so that the chimney is at the very corner and the boat body is outside the bed, then lower the boat below the bed so that only the chimney is above the bed, then that should slice even if the boat body is ...

Indication of currently printing file

In the touch panel menu, Print, where the files are listed, it would be nice if it highlighted the currently printing (or last printed, if not currently printing) file. It is easy to forget which file is being printed when it could have come from local storage, USB, or SD card. Even if you print onl...

Zoom origin

In CAD and other programs that zoom image, it usually use the mouse pointer as the origin. This is not the case with ideaMaker. It would be nice if ideaMaker did the same. Point first using the mouse pointer to where you want the center of the zoom to take place, then use the mouse scroll wheel. Thi...

Re: automatic shutdown at end of print

I use Vera home controller and Z-Wave outlet, so I turn the printer power off when its wattage falls below 33W for more than a minute. It is an easy solution and all my printers are controlled that way -- since none of them have automatic power-off. :-( The good part about this is that it can also n...

Re: DYZE Filament Sentinel

Another approach is to use the guts from a laser mouse. No physical contact required. It even works with transparent filament. That also provides an option to plug it into Touch Controller's USB port rather than using the motion controller, which means it is easily relocatable to the top of the mach...

Incorrect "Model out of range" error, and bad image

If I am printing a pyramid with a negative Z-offset to print just the top portion of it, error message of "Model out of range..." prevents it from being sliced if the bottom portion is out of the bed plate (in X or Y direction, by moving to the side) even though that part is not being prin...

Re: IdeaMaker: contents of the data file?

I would suggest eliminating the data file in the first place. Having a separate data file is a hassle when automating the process using scripts and Raise3D is one of the few that has this 2-file system. Using just one file for the gcode also makes it more compatible with other slicer and printer. Th...

Turn off unnecessary wipe

When doing dual-head printing, it would print so much faster without wasting filament and with better quality if wipe wall/tower is disabled when the second filament is no longer used. Perhaps it can be an option, but ideaMaker needs to stop keep doing the wipe once the layer is reached where only o...

Color code XYZ values

In ideaMaker, doing things like move and rotate shows colored rings that show which axis to move.
However, the values in the box are not colored. It would be so much easier to figure out which axis is which if the box values have matching color.

Re: auto-height (not auto-level)

Ah, so it looks this cannot be done without production change. If hardware change is needed anyway, then perhaps strain gauge can be used. That will detect Z-stop and has an added benefit of detecting object collision and displacement during printing.

Re: auto-height (not auto-level)

If your controller can measure the electrical current then there is an easier way. Why not just lower the head slowly onto the build plate and measure the increase in current when it hits. That requires no switches or physical modifications. Just a small software change. As for software errors, you ...

auto-height (not auto-level)

I use various print surface, so the height has to be adjusted every time. It would be good if the Z-stop switch is moved to above the actual print surface so that it automatically adjusts for the difference in plate thickness. Right now, it measures Z-height of the bottom of the plate which does not...

Adjustable bed offset at the printer

It would be useful to have a print-offset screen at the Touch Panel to accept manually entered X and Y +/- coordinates. It should also have the option for the printer to pick a random position that the object can still fit within the print bed. It then offsets the XY in gcode at print time. This has...
