Re: Project robot lawnmower

Do you have a guesstimate on what the total amount of filament has been so far for this project?

Re: Project robot lawnmower

Another suggestion would be to also use a raft. I always error on the side of a raft if I think the print will come off due to bed adhesion issues and they come out great.

Good choice. I think you’ll be happy with it!

Re: Project robot lawnmower

Great work! I always like to see people who are using their printers for engineering projects. Keep the updates coming.

Re: Looking for a printer, should we buy a new Pro2, new N2 or a used N2?

It really all depends on WHAT you plan to use the machine for. Are you a prototyping shop? Are you an enthusiast? Do you need to print with any filament or will PLA work? A lot of questions to better help us. The closed firmware hasn't been an issue for us. Do you really intend on making any changes...

Re: Opening the electronics box

Late response, but yep... a little more force. It's definitely uncomfortable to do because it seems it always ends up bad when you strong arm things.

Re: Just Released N2 Pro

And damn it looks nice!!! Some folks on the forum wondered with the recent reduced price in the N2 Plus if there was a new model coming out. The one saving grace for those of us who just bought recently is that there is a substantial price increase for the same build volume. It would have really stu...

Re: Red Cobra Hydro dipped 3d Printed Roktopus

It is commercially available, but very simple to do on your own. All you need a container that’s large enough to hold water to dip it in, the film and activator. All easily available on the web. The part needs to be able to be submersed in water. It’s well defined across the industry so only new and...

Red Cobra Hydro dipped 3d Printed Roktopus

I wanted something to start working with and testing my hydro dipping so I printed out a Roktopus and dipped it. If I would have dipped it at a slightly different angle it would have gotten the inside of his hand and I accidentally tapped the crown of his head on the bottom of the tank. Came out oka...

Nice for a dual extruder setup. It looks like it’s a single print?

Settings Precedence

Do the ideaMaker settings or touch screen settings take precedence when printing?

So, for example if I set the Step-E size in ideaMaker to one value and I set it to a different value via the touch screen, which value is used?

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

I wanted to post another "gotcha" I found - which is very obvious once I thought about it. Today when I went to print I noticed that once the nozzle/bed heated to temperature, the bed adjusted and the nozzle began to do it's "pre-print extrusion" (the little bit of filament that ...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

Made the jump and installed it last night. Overall it went pretty well... Some things... Right out of the gate - using the provided hex wrenches - I stripped both of the main screws that hold in the extruder. Not sure why, but it seems to like the provided hex wrench that fit was slightly undersized...

Re: One extruder or dual-extruder?

I wouldn't say it's "highly" recommended and I wouldn't even say you HAVE to. My stock extruder works fine, but I feel like the benefits (from reading that post) are worth the change. You can read that post to see what people are saying about the benefits. Not sure about voiding the warran...

Re: One extruder or dual-extruder?

What I did was go with the single extruder on my original N2 plus, BECAUSE I knew, eventually I would upgrade to the Bondtech extruder made for the N series and it is a dual extruder. If you have no plans of doing the Bondtech mod then get the dual. As you alluded to you can remove the second nozzle...

Re: File management

I'm not sure about renaming, but if you select the file and then select print - BUT - before you actually confirm the print there is a delete button (trashcan icon) in the upper right hand corner. You can delete it from the machine that way. https://1nskua.dm2304.livefilestore.com/y4mRu1CBKb7Xh-gigE...

Re: PETG Settings

I have absolutely no experience with PETG so I'm just spit-balling here, but have you cleaned your build surface lately? You'd be amazed how much dust, dirt, grease and grime can accumulate over time and cause adhesion issues. See my post here: http://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6467 F...
