Re: a very very clogged hotend- advice

you can use a heat gun to soften the plastic, then just peel it off the hotend.

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

Martin, will you make an adapter available for those of us with the original kickerstarter motors? I think Jetguy mentioned that the cables / plugs are not the same as the new pancake motors?

thanks!

Thanks Charles your solution worked great....my other printers print at a 4, I double the N2, that was already at 5, to 10 and it looks great.......we also noticed that the temp of the hot end is set at 215, im lowering it to 195, what my other machines do, and testing another one to see what it do...

Re: which camera is recommended?

I use the original camera they sold with the printer. It is far from ideal since the focal distance is not great for having it in the machine. Others here have used everything from the Nest camera to other low end network cameras. Just do a search on camera and see the old threads on here.

Re: which camera is recommended?

no, there are no supported camera; the camera tab is just a tease... They meant to have it a originally, but have since dropped the idea. They really should remove that tab.

Re: New printer issues

you need more layers on top. Go into the infill tab of ideamaker and change the # of layers on top to a higher number

Re: problem with spiral vase mode

Are you sure vase mode is turned on in Ideamaker? There shouldn't be any explicit layer changes since it is all continuous.

Did you measure the diameter of the Verbatim PLA to make sure it is 1.75mm or less?

If you have a Microcenter close by, Inland PLA is pretty consistent and inexpensive. $14.99 a roll.

Re: GCODE: How do I pause the print at a specific layer height ?

Yes, I use it all the time to change colors/filaments. Yes, as simple as setting layer height. When it pauses, it moves the head back to home, then you do the unpause, it continues.

Re: GCODE: How do I pause the print at a specific layer height ?

If you are using Ideamaker, why not just set the pause in Ideamaker under Advanced Settings - - Others - - Pause at Heights

more economical option

I asked CS Hyde for a more economical option for the N2 since the 13"x13.5" sized sheets were so much more expensive than the 12x12. They figured out that if we keep the max on one side to 12.5, then the price will be much closer to the 12x12 size sheet. We settled on 12.5x13.5" Here ...

This one screws into extruder so it is not dependent on mounts from the other fans.

Re: Nozzle z-axis leveling

the bed mod directions are in threads around here, one thing left out is make the spring for the center screw twice as strong as the springs for the periphery why make the center spring so much stronger? could you accomplish that by using two springs (not sure they would fit into the screw, but...)

N2 sized PEI sheet from CS Hyde

I asked CS Hyde about getting a precut N2 size PEI sheet with adhesive on the back. They added their various thickness of PEI sized for the N2 to the website: http://catalog.cshyde.com/viewitems/3d-printing-materials/ultem-pei They have not added the 20mil and 40mil yet, but here is the prices quote...
