S3D and Dual extrusion

Has this ever been figured out??? Last posts here seem to leave the issue hanging. Last I read the tool numbers are backwards and 1 nozzle needs an offset. The sliced preview does not show them combined and you have to have the offset ing code turned on. I've tried again lately and I cannot seem to ...

Re: Simplify3D Offset Issue

OK, I played around with S3D 3.1 some more last night. I didn't get around to verifying whether or not this issue is unique to the N2 Plus settings or if it is common to both the N2 and N2 Plus; but the Left and Right extruders are definitely reversed in the settings. Any job / setting applied to t...

PID control

The one thing about the Raise3D that drives me NUTS!!! is the way when I load or unload filament or sometimes at the start of a print the PID control stops the temp increasing RIGHT BEFORE it's supposed to and drops then starts upwards again adding time to the operation. This is unnecessary. PLEASE ...

Re: Urgent fix needed

I think I need to make this more clear and mark it urgent. I posted this in the change request catagory but I think it will get more visibility here. I consider the recent change to the LCD firmware a huge step backwards and urgent to fix. Specifically, the heat to the nozzle is terminated each tim...

Pause position

I finally have a use case with the Raise3D N2 where I need to pause and switch filaments. Now I see that there is a problem. The pause position of the hotend is inside the build plate area and not off to the side to allow the filament to flow down during the filament load. The bed is kept at the las...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

I scanned this thread to see if this was posted yet... I could not find anything so... The latest version of the UI panel FW has esteps added. Go to the gear menu, Machine, More settings, Hardware, Steps per unit, esteps. No need to change the start gcode to set the esteps to 415. Set it to 415 in t...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

The DualDirect Bondtech upgrade decreased ringing by at least 50% using the same speeds I had been using with the stock feeders. I also see much less zippers. It finished a 7 hour print in TPU and it came out perfect with no stringing at all compared to the same settings using the stock parts. It WA...

Re: Bed Leveling - N2+ (My Experience & Solution)

I'll give you a bit of a the back story. I bought a brand new Raise3D N2+ back in February. Got a great first print off the device. Printed some more. Learned my bed was not 100% level from the factory. I first tried making adjustments using the hotend and the supplied feeler gauge. It was back bre...

Re: N2 Manual Bed Leveling Mod ???

I think it should actually have a leveling kit provided with the machine since the defect is proven. It is permissible for the user to be obliged to disburse the least underneath. If this is not possible, the machine must be delivered with a good leveling. You can imagine a car dealer selling you a...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

I just installed the dual direct pancake upgrade. Printing Benchy right now. One thing I never saw mentioned in this thread is the impact on the filament Load utility... My new steppers were WAY too slow for loading. To change it go into the "Tune" window of the UI and up the Nozzle flow r...

Re: Update FW... HOW?

I just want to update to 1.1.1.
I see no way to do that and the instructions on the website are meaningless.
So... I plug in a thumbdrive with the file, turn on the N2... then what?

Re: Bad adhesion of Buildtak

Your buildtak problem is probably because your nozzle is a touch too far from the build surface. In other machines this is easily solved by bed leveling in less then second. Unless you mod it yourself, the N2/N2+ bed is factory leveled (a boneheaded design approach which R3D stubbornly refuses to re...

Re: Dual Extruder Ditto printing

I think a while back this was discussed. There are some Marlin branches that support DITTO printing. There lies the problem. The Marlin used on a the Raise 3D is custom and modified to support key functions and the specific motion controller board. I think it would take a bit of effort to port the ...

I thought that only happened on CRTs!? First I've ever heard of an LCD and burn in, but given the machine runs for days on end I guess it makes sense. Is there a brightness setting?

Re: Dual Extruder Ditto printing

Do you mean that use two nozzle two same model at one time? That means the model needs to be really small. Since the offset between two nozzles are only 25mm. Yes that is correct. Yes the objects are limited in size to the distance between the nozzles. For low qty production the splits the cost and...

Dual Extruder Ditto printing

This would be a slick feature for those of us who do contract production work. Basically the way to works (with Sailfish machines) is the dual extruders print at the same time making two objects simultaneously. Of course the object sizes and the relative X axis positioning has to be paid attention t...

Re: electric guitar

Ok, this was the last axe I did. I call it the Herring Strat because the design is from a Keith Herring painting. It feels and plays as nice as a Corona Ca Strat. I've made 7 so far but 3 failed. 2 were before I started using carbon fiber rods for reinforcement. PLA and ABS moves even at room temp. ...
