Re: New Heated Bed Reads 738 degrees with no heat

To clarify wiring. on the logic board we have ground, 5v and S. I wired 5v to one leg of thermistor and ground to other leg of thermistor. Then I wired a 4.7k resistor to the 5v wire and on the other end of the resistor I wired it to the S leg. My wires are different colors than your is why I didn'...

Re: New Heated Bed Reads 738 degrees with no heat

This is exactly the same I did, as I wrote here. I just didn't find a good photo of the wiring. ;)

Re: Project: The next heated bed

If I remember right, I built a 3 wire cable (or modified the existing one?) with a 1/4 Watt wired pullup resistor near the plug. I directly plugged this into the original socket on the main board. So in Marlin I didn't change any pin configuration, just the sensor type.

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

Is your Outline Direction set to 'Inside-Out' or 'Outside-In'? Generally, I'm getting cleaner results with 'Inside-Out'.

Re: Your favorite PLA Brand

Ingeo 3D850 and Ingeo 3D870 based PLA, available from different brands. 3D850 is general purpose and very easy printable, 3D870 is not exactly so smooth to print but very stiff (more than ABS) - I'm using it mostly for mechanical parts. I'm buying it in this shop: https://www.hta3d.com/en/filament/p...

I like it, nice work! :)
Most likely I will build one as well, if you share the files ...

Re: Improvements by using TMC2130 driver.

@Iamkar33m:
I already have had the situation, that the same model printed at different locations on the bed could succeed or fail because of lost steps (layer shifts). $20 are definitely worth avoiding these headaches...

Re: Improvements by using TMC2130 driver.

I just completed the first print after doing this mod. Everything went very well.
Thanks ABH for sharing this and your comprehensive write up!

Never mind. I found, it's a library which needs to be installed first. ;-)

Re: Improvements by using TMC2130 driver.

@ABH:
I'm just doing the same mod, but can't build your firmware from the TMC2208 branch. It seems, the TMC2208Stepper.h is missing there. Could you please check that?

Thanks!

Yes, I configured the printer via touch screen as single extruder. I could PM you my configuration?

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

@ABH: You saved my day! The first build of your sources resulted in a successfully printed calibration box with LIN_ADVANCE enabled (looks very promising).
I was just thinking about throwing away the touchscreen and using a clean Marlin...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

The thermal runaway protection seems to be not the only one problem: In a last act of despair, I completely disabled the thermal runaway protection (which was not that easy, thanks Marlin). But again, nothing happens after heating up everything - the print just doesn't start. Maybe touch screen comm...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

Thanks Jetguy for pointing to this. I didn't see this thread earlier. But I did also see the behavior in some previous version, that a entered temperature was reset. I couldn't test further because lack of time for this and so I reverted to my previous version at this point in time. However, this do...

Re: Project: The next heated bed

Awesome mod. I'm wanting to print polycarbonate and seems you want at least 130C to do that. Maybe I'm blind and I didn't see it but whats the max stable bed temp you can hit with this. I was looking at bed heaters from Keenovo as they seem pretty powerful beds and they seem to have a well diversif...

Re: LIN_ADVANCE = better extrusion control

This is a very nice feature. Unfortunately I don't get firespeds firmware running on my printer. While heating up the hotend I'm always getting this: IMG_20180202_191020.jpg Does anybody experience the same? I already spent hours digging a little bit deeper into this and tried changing parameters of...

Do you have a deadline for orders? Would you ship to the EU and at which rates (a rough estimate would be sufficient)?
