Re: Touch Screen Lock Ups?

Just got off the phone with a wonderful gentleman who accused me to prove I didn't break the screen. I told him if this was the service that Raise3D provides then I was going to tell three people (two friends and my employeer) who were considering buying Raise3D machines not to purchase them because...

Are you talking about the new Pro2 or the N2/N2+?

This is an N2+

Re: Touch Screen Lock Ups?

I'm a bit disappointed in the answers I'm hearing. I contacted Profound3D support (since Raise3D support told me to contact the company I bought my printer from) and we tried a few things, but nothing worked. Apparently the support guy at Profound3D was told by is contact at Raise3D (before we tried...

Touch Screen Lock Ups?

I was curious if there were any reported touch screen lock ups with the new firmware. I went down to my printer this morning and found the touch screen locked up and a large print half finished and unrecoverable. :( I've had my printer going quite a bit this past month. I've had it do this to me abo...

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I'm having GREAT luck with ABS+ combined with the LokBuild surface. I've been doing some large prints and in some cases multiple large prints using a good amount of the surface. One other factor I want to add is I'm now using Simplfy3D ...

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

The Bondtech extruder is high on my list of things to upgrade to, but for now, I got what I got. I got a disappointing email from customer support who said to contact the reseller I bought my printer from and basically told me "Don't print without a raft" That said, I am managing to get my...

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

Hey all, I had some initial success with the LokBuild. It does hang on to ABS pretty tight. On a larger print I started getting warping at the edges. On further investigation I determined that one of my big problems is despite several attempts I have not leveled the bed. I just put in a support tick...

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

I used to use PET tape with ABS juice on my older printer. It worked great for me for smaller parts but when I started printing larger parts it wasn't enough. PEI was definitely a step up for me. It was working well for me, up until the other day when my sheet tore in half when I pulled a part off t...

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

So I have a Lokbuild surface and a spool of eSun ABS+ arriving tomorrow for Amazon.

:)

I will let you all know how it shakes out.

Re: ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

Zemlin - I am using Inland ABS. I saw one of your recent posts about ABS+ and I'm actually going to give it a shot soon. The problem is I still have 4 spools of this stuff sitting around that I don't want to go to waste. ;) I'm printing with a bed temp of 110 and nozzle temp of 260. I'm doing some R...

ABS Build Surface - PEI? Geckotek?

Hey all, I've been printing a lot of ABS recently. I've never had luck with the BuildTak surface with ABS. I bought a thin sheet of PEI from UItem (as suggested by a post on here). I've managed to get my prints to stick, but I've had to squash the first layer down quite a bit. Its hard getting the p...

Re: Bondtech Upgrade Typical Speed Improvement?

That sounds super sweet!

I'm going to read up on the stepper driver upgrade too. Looks interesting (and not very expensive). Thanks for the tip. :)

I'd love to hear other stories. :)

Bondtech Upgrade Typical Speed Improvement?

I was debating getting the Bondtech dual extruder upgrade for my N2+ Dual extruder. I've seen a lot of users here have success with it. I'm curious how much you can safely increase the speed of printing with the lighter extruder? Does anyone have any custom speed/accel settings they use that work fo...

WPA2 Security Vulnerability

I was curious if your company was looking into patching the firmware on your devices in case they are vulnerable to the new WPA2 security vulnerability. https://www.krackattacks.com/ I would hate to see anyone use your product as an attack vector into a network. Hopefully, its an easy patch to integ...

I will take a look and see if the head is tight. If thats not it, I'll give the slower speed a try. Thanks for the advise!

Wavy Horizontal Lines in Print?

I printed this recently. This is the first time I've printed something with overhang details that the IdeaMaker software did not automatically generate supports for. The squares and circles down the middle are supposed to be smooth. You can actually see other areas near them that also have wavyness....

Variable Layer Height

I've been seeing various implementation of Variable Layer Height. It keeps a balance between thin layer heights for detailed areas (like curves in the Z direction) while allowing for thicker heights for printing speed in less detailed areas. I would love to see this in IdeaMaker! http://hackaday.com...
