Auto fit to build volume and printing with a raft.

When letting IdeaMaker auto fit the object to the build volume. And then print with a raft. That causes the top of the print to be cut off since it’s now out of the build volume. And I’ve got no warning for this either.
Something to be aware off and to fix in a later version perhaps.

Re: Minimal layer print time not working?

Thanks. I can't confirm the pause in S3D. That info is from another source that might not be reliable. I understand your choice here and will try out to change the print speed. :)

How do I do this?

Re: Minimal layer print time not working?

ok. that's not really clear. Especially not since other slicers like S3D do pause. (And the pause would in this case make more sense and a better print than slowing printer speed). But thanks for the explanation. I haven't yet understood how to change settings at a specific layer. Would you mind exp...

Re: Reliable supports that's "not" touching platform?

I made a simple model to test different supports. I noticed that when I place manually supports with a pillar (with a size of 4mm) the bottom and the top of the supports doesn't conform to the shape of the object? Is this a bug? Or has it always behaved like this? Seams really stupid or am I missin...

Re: Reliable supports that's "not" touching platform?

For ideamaker Solid Base Layers would plant your support down to the base nicely. However it will affect the surface quality of your model's ponytail portion. Best option is to take the model to MeshMixer and generate tree supports there, then take it into Ideamaker. Based on the slicer preview it ...

Minimal layer print time not working?

When printing really small layers I had thought that the printer would print the layer and then pause for the amount of seconds (minus the print time for that layer) that I enter in the “minimal layer print time” settings? But that setting doesn’t seem to do anything for me. In this print I had it s...

Re: Reliable supports that's "not" touching platform?

have you tried Solid Base Layers? Of course this may cause issue for the structure that starts on your model. Also make Vertical Offset Down Layers to 0 so that it doesn't print in air. Does that problematic support print off the bed or a brim? Thanks. Will look into those settings. I used only a r...

Reliable supports that's "not" touching platform?

When printing objects that require support. And those supports have to print on top of another part of the model? How does one do this reliably. For this print I have placed supports manually: Skärmavbild 2018-02-22 kl. 10.31.33.png This is how it looks sliced. The front support printed fine. the su...

Re: First Post, Looking for WebCam suggestion

I have the Logitech C922 streaming to YouTube live via OSB studio from an iMac. Works ok. But the depth of field is very narrow. Only a few mm. (I have it mounted on the outside of the door of the printer)

Be ware that there is no stop at the bottom. Press to much and the bed will bottom out. Sounds (and probably is) really bad.

Re: Not reaching temperature

Couldn’t irregular temp values also be caused by a faulty band cable? I got a lot of random errors when my cable failed.

Re: Thin Walls - Single Extrusion Fill?

If your wall thickness is 2 or 4 times the extrusion width and you choose 2 shells. Then you should get the result you are after. A wall with 2 or 4 shells with no infill. If the wall is 6 times the nozzle width, choose 3 shells. And so on. (But I agree that there should be an option to have the inf...

Re: Feature request for internal support or infill when needed.

.... Like 10% infill to layer X. And 40% for the rest. ... I found out, Ideamaker does this already in the "per Layer settings". Unfortunately, it's a kinda hidden gem, and one has to remember there was part with "special" settings, but overall this secret weapon is a very might...

Also check that the flat cable connector on the pcb on the printhead is connected properly. (And the other cables on that pcb as well).

Re: Serial error - No Such device or address

You can press on the screen icon to disable the motor. And then move the printhead around the printbed. To see if you get he error when you put “stress” to the cables.

Re: Dual extrusion Simplify3D

You have to enable the right nozzle in the slicing presets/settings as well as choosing the correct nozzle for each model. And also set the filament and temps for each nozzle.
