Re: Part Shifting On Glass Bed

It only seems to happen for me when I'm printing multiple items. I was printing a dozen or so items one day and the collision was so energetic that it pushed the glass bed out of the printer! Since then I print fewer items at a time and double up on the binder clips along the sides and front of the ...

Re: N2 Printer PolyFlex Filliment Problems

Does anyone have any advice for both print settings and removing the stuck filament? I have had the same problems you mention using flexible filament and I dare say everybody has who has tried it. Try printing slower, flexible filament doesn't like to be hurried. I print the first layer at 15mm/sec...

Re: Nozzle home position off the build plate

I have an N1, so there may be a difference in the priming routine on an N2, but I doubt it. I have the glass build plate positioned so that the nozzle is just over it by about 1mm. This is is easy to do as there is quite a lot of positional tolerance within the clips. In this position it's easy to s...

Re: Model release

Buildtak is okay, but has significant limitations. I have some PLA that sticks a bit too well to and found that a short woodworker's chisel is much better than the scraper supplied. I leave the glass in place in my N1 and very carefully ease the chisel under the corners/edges of the part. With patie...

Re: How to convert N1 to single nozzle, gcode control fans.

I upgraded to bondtech extruders which was really simple to do and a great improvement. Hi Tom I have an N1 dual and am considering the Bondtech Dual Direct upgrade, but all the instructions appear to be for the N2. The only real difference appears to be that the N1 doesn't have the cable chain. Di...

Re: New idea for insulating a hot end rapidly

The key parameter is insulation, or "k" factor. The insulators I sell for Zortrax printers have a k factor of 0.48. And installation couldn't be much easier - a couple of silicone o-rings. Julia, I like your elegant design. Are they a universal fit or do you sell a version for Raise hoten...

Re: Buildtak

So, how is your experience with buildtak? I would say 'not bad', I would give it 6 or maybe a 7 out of 10. It's my surface of choice for PLA and TPU, mainly because I have 3 or 4 sheets of it lying around. With care I can get a sheet of Buiildtak to last 3 months. What I dislike is that the grip to...

Re: First Post, Looking for WebCam suggestion

I use a Foscam C1, it's a small wifi IP cam, but it can also be accessed via ethernet. The resolution isn't that great, but it's good enough to see the usual problems that occur from time to time. I have it set up just outside the printer, about 3cm away from the perspex and it images the whole of t...

Re: ideaMaker 3.0-beta Release Note 2017.10.23

If you have an important task to do with, we still recommend you to use the current official version 2.6.0. Quick link: ideaMaker 2.6.0 https://www.raise3d.com/pages/download Hi Vicky I was expecting that version 3 beta would sit alongside v2.6, but when I try to install v3.0 it wants to uninstall ...

Couple of minor bugs to report

Firstly, I would congratulate the Raise3D team on a superb job with the software. My printer and the IM app are very stable and practically bug free and I know from experience that this isn't easy. Please keep up the diligence on future releases. That being said I have noticed a couple of quirks... ...

Re: There is an app for that... how about one for Raise3D?

Can't you just set up port forwarding on your router and enter the URL in your phone's browser? That would be good. But for it to be possible, the touchscreen controller would have to be running a webserver and I don't believe it is on my N1. Certainly not on port 80. Does anybody know of a way to ...

Re: There is an app for that... how about one for Raise3D?

I love that I can see my printer dashboard on my laptop via wifi, but I want to be able to see it on my phone & tablet too. It would be great to have a 5 star app straight away but, realistically, this could be a read-only app initially that gets additional functionality over time. In my case I ...

Re: How to quiet Noisy Fans?

My N1 had noisy fans, which made it uncomfortable to be with in the same room, so I had to fix it. Generally speaking, low noise fans achieve their decibel reduction by running slower and moving less air. Given that the Raise3D engineers may have made important design decisions based on fan airflow,...

A couple of mistakes worth sharing...

I'm a firm believer that we learn more by mistakes than we do from successes. By rights I should now be a genius! Here are my latest howlers... Accidentally, I printed a PETG part with the bed set to 80C. That's way too hot for PETG on Buildtak, the part stuck so well that I had major problems remov...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

Way back in the first post, Jetguy called this an upgrade for N1, N2 & N2+. Since that time I have seen no mention of this upgrade being suitable for the N1. I think the only real difference is cable management, but there may be other differences that I don't know about. I would like to fit this...

Yes, it does disengage the extruder. No, I couldn't push PLA filament through it by hand.

Extruder fan noisy

I have had my N1 since October 2016 and the left extruder has started to make a lot more noise lately. It sounds like it's changing speed at times, sort of revving up then down. I see that replacement fans are cheap, $3.99 in the R3D shop, but is it the fan or the driver causing the problem? Has any...
