Re: First Post, Looking for WebCam suggestion

I use a Foscam C1, it's a small wifi IP cam, but it can also be accessed via ethernet. The resolution isn't that great, but it's good enough to see the usual problems that occur from time to time. I have it set up just outside the printer, about 3cm away from the perspex and it images the whole of t...

Re: ideaMaker 3.0-beta Release Note 2017.10.23

If you have an important task to do with, we still recommend you to use the current official version 2.6.0. Quick link: ideaMaker 2.6.0 https://www.raise3d.com/pages/download Hi Vicky I was expecting that version 3 beta would sit alongside v2.6, but when I try to install v3.0 it wants to uninstall ...

Couple of minor bugs to report

Firstly, I would congratulate the Raise3D team on a superb job with the software. My printer and the IM app are very stable and practically bug free and I know from experience that this isn't easy. Please keep up the diligence on future releases. That being said I have noticed a couple of quirks... ...

Re: There is an app for that... how about one for Raise3D?

Can't you just set up port forwarding on your router and enter the URL in your phone's browser? That would be good. But for it to be possible, the touchscreen controller would have to be running a webserver and I don't believe it is on my N1. Certainly not on port 80. Does anybody know of a way to ...

Re: There is an app for that... how about one for Raise3D?

I love that I can see my printer dashboard on my laptop via wifi, but I want to be able to see it on my phone & tablet too. It would be great to have a 5 star app straight away but, realistically, this could be a read-only app initially that gets additional functionality over time. In my case I ...

Re: How to quiet Noisy Fans?

My N1 had noisy fans, which made it uncomfortable to be with in the same room, so I had to fix it. Generally speaking, low noise fans achieve their decibel reduction by running slower and moving less air. Given that the Raise3D engineers may have made important design decisions based on fan airflow,...

A couple of mistakes worth sharing...

I'm a firm believer that we learn more by mistakes than we do from successes. By rights I should now be a genius! Here are my latest howlers... Accidentally, I printed a PETG part with the bed set to 80C. That's way too hot for PETG on Buildtak, the part stuck so well that I had major problems remov...

Re: Bondtech BMG upgrade for the N series

Way back in the first post, Jetguy called this an upgrade for N1, N2 & N2+. Since that time I have seen no mention of this upgrade being suitable for the N1. I think the only real difference is cable management, but there may be other differences that I don't know about. I would like to fit this...

Yes, it does disengage the extruder. No, I couldn't push PLA filament through it by hand.

Extruder fan noisy

I have had my N1 since October 2016 and the left extruder has started to make a lot more noise lately. It sounds like it's changing speed at times, sort of revving up then down. I see that replacement fans are cheap, $3.99 in the R3D shop, but is it the fan or the driver causing the problem? Has any...

Re: Print exceeded extruder limits

It only checks the bounding box for the part against the left extruder limits, it doesn't check against the right extruder limits. Now 3 of these limits are the same - front, back & right - but the left limits are different for each extruder Your suggestion is sound and I would normally do that,...

Print exceeded extruder limits

Hi Vicky, Just had a print fail after several hours because it was outside the X axis extruder range. I was using the right hand extruder and the part had an angle such that it printed okay at the start, but as it went up it exceeded the printing boundary on the left of the table. Can IM have a dete...

Re: Urgent fix needed

Just want to add my support for maintaining the heater temperatures after a print run and after a reel change operation. As John elaborates above it is so annoying to have to wait for it to warm-up every time. A 5 minute timer would seem to be the best compromise of efficiency and safety. Can we hav...

Re: Resume printing after a power failure?

Is there anyone that did succeede to resume printing after loosing power? Yes it does work. I was mid-way through a big print and had a power outage. When I got home (about 2 hours later) I restored the power turned on my printer, hit the reume button and it heated up and finished the print. Perfect!

Re: Adding code during print N2

I actually got it to work well. left nozzle black, right nozzle yellow, was getting oozing on borders and 25mm offset ghosting on yellow as the black was only a detail in the middle of part. I start off with temp on L-Nozzle at 160 Find where the black started printing by searching for T0 and after...

Re: Prints Welded to Raft

Why do you need to use a raft? I used to print a raft but then found I get better prints without them. Of course you do need to spend some time getting your bed as level as you can get it and nozzle height set up properly.

Re: Conducting Filament

As Vicky has pointed out, IM applies the same infill percentage to both extruders. The easy fix is to set the infill to 100%, but another trick might be to play with the number of shells. I just printed a part with 5 shells and the effect was that the small section areas were effectively printed sol...
