Re: Help Loose Extruder

Sorry I meant this custom bolt that the heat vents going around and the PLA goes thru it. http://i.imgur.com/kZlgODd.jpg Today I found the bolt laying on the floor next to the printer. I had the door open so it might have dropped out from the inside or maybe from the bottom. It looks just like the b...

Re: Help Loose Extruder

Heat gun worked okay to help clean the PLA off. But I snapped the threads off the long bolt during assembly. Weird because it wasn't tight and looked like I could spin it several more times before it was to tighten up. Does Raise sell the bolt separately or just with the V2 hotend? I wonder if boili...

Re: Help Loose Extruder

Well that lasted for 3 months and then I think the extruder hit a part. It leaks all over the place its coming out just under the vents.

What is a good way to clean all of the PLA off of these parts? Put them in the oven, a heat gun?

Ordered a V2 hotend incase this turns out to be bent or damaged.

Re: Wall of shame prints (print failures)

The worst print fail I had was a couple of months ago that would have resulted in a heck of alot of damage if I hadn't stopped it in time. I was printing out 1 of the 24 parts that make up a BB-8 inside sphere. Because the shape of these parts they were hands down my most difficult print. They even ...

Re: My Star Wars prints.

I have been busy! I got these files from a commercial site so I can't post the STLs or I would, had to sign a strict NDA type of thing to get these files. Keep in mind they aren't perfect either but are a good starting point. The Head. http://i.imgur.com/n0Ou0ck.jpg 5 day print, 6 shells thick, 30% ...

Re: Bad adhesion of Buildtak

What bed temps are you using? I can't get nothing, and I mean nothing to stick to the buildtak unless I use a raft. But even then I put down quite a bit of elmers glue sticks. So you might want to get used to buying a 30 pack of elmers glue sticks as you'll use them left and right. Also if my bed te...

Amazing how it printed out the rails all the details of the steel without seeing stringing of material everywhere. I've seen this printer do stuff that should have been impossible.

Re: Help Loose Extruder

Thanks! This was exactly the information I was looking for. Just the basics of how these parts are fasten together so I can clean it up. Sometimes I notice some brownish oil has fell onto the part. I'm assuming its grease from the aluminum rods that is working its way down via gravity and ending on ...

http://i.imgur.com/AjEPSZ8.jpg Paint done on the ring. Should be a week or so and it will be done. On the toy I noticed it had 8 shoulder buttons and no pistons. So I turn on the 3D printer and made a batch. http://i.imgur.com/aiPa65L.jpg They came out so nice I didn't bother with putty on them. Ju...

http://i.imgur.com/VmdIp2I.jpg With Xmass and family around, it's hard finding time to finish this. I was hoping to have this done by next weekend. I can see that won't happen because this black gloss paint I have is not forgiving at all. It shows every mistake and pit hole under Sunlight. I have t...

Re: My Star Wars prints.

When I started this project I first went for a dome file. This is back when I had print lifting off the bed. Here is a failed print that almost made it to 3 days and failed at layer 1880 of 2221 layers. The reason the time lapse shows is the print lifted off the bed and the extruder knocked it way o...

Help Loose Extruder

Over time I noticed my left extruder is coming loose. Now its really, really lose to the point I can spin it by hand. This is not good as prints are failing from this hitting parts. http://i.imgur.com/N3wwFVL.jpg I've tightened the top allen screw but it looks like that just holds the heat grills in...
