Should the motion controller firmware and touchscreen firmware be updated

I have a 2 year old N2+. Not sure if I need to update all of these firmwares. Wondering if issues have occured with poeple upgrading older machines to the latest firmwares.... or are they fairly safe.

Re: Printing with PolyCarbonate

hey Zemlin,
Can you post a picture of something you printed with ePC on the raise? I would like to see the complexity level. Thanks for all of the comments!

Printing with PolyCarbonate

I have been giving PC a go and have had success with simple things like a hook and a clip. However when I try something more complex that has supports and takes several hours to print, the part does not stick very well to the bed. i am getting some warping. I am using a temp of 260 for the nozzle an...

All metal hot end question

Question. The website says that the N2plus has an all metal hot end and can go to 300 C. I thought that hot ends with a PTFE lining are not considered "all metal". Is it because the PTFE lining is higher up than other hot ends?

Re: no start after thermal protector installation necessary

I just installed my thermal protector yesterday and the first time I got that error. I had the thermal protector plug that goes into the mother board "backwards". The online tutorial threw me off because there is no black plastic frame around the prongs on my motherboard to help me to alig...

Re: Thermal-Protector - available soon to all

Hey I got an email a good month ago asking what country I live in. I have not received a Thermal-Protector yet. I emailed support 2 weeks ago to check and did not get a reply. I have a N2 plus.

Re: Bondtech Upgrade Typical Speed Improvement?

Hey Zemlin,
What kinds of speeds are you getting with your home machines in mm/sec? The bottleneck I am getting is too much ghosting. I also have a Bondtech.

Wavy base layers

For a couple of prints, one part of the buildplate is having issues. There are waves where it sticks to the plate. It is always in the same area. I am printing polymax pla blend. The bed is 55C and the nozzle 210C. Thanks. :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/qvw82kv73b20zsg/IMG_1944.jpg?dl=0

Controlling several printers at once

Hey Raise, just wondering if you guys are cooking up any software to manage a printer farm. I just have one Raise right now but I can see getting a farm together. It would be great to have a dashboard to tell you when one print is having issues and being able to glance across the whole project. And ...

Error on the Raise web site, N1

Hey Raise, on the text that describes the N1 printer it states that the volume is 33% greater than the makerbot Z18. The "N2 plus" has that.

When using .6mm nozzle

When using a .6mm nozzle what other settings should you adjust? How about layer height for example. I am hoping to get a .4mm layer height. I know I will adjust layer width to .6mm. Thanks!!

Selling Filaments that use the Master Spool

This is a great idea which cuts down on a lot of waste!! It is a spool that can be printed and is used over and over again. It is designed well. One filament manufacturer makes filament for it already and they save on shipping weight and cost of the spool. Watch the video. ;) https://www.thingiverse...

Re: Grounding out the filament guide tube

Thanks for the replies. I have it plugged into a battery ups. Maybe I will try a different wall socket as that wall socket may not be grounded. It is a strong zap so I believe it is a house current zap.

Re: Clips for the glass plate that Never interfere with the nozzle

I am thinking more like Ultimaker which has the built in clips at the front that pivot out. I see your point though but the left front corner doesnt have a spot to clip to, even with a small clip. But they should be fool proof.

Grounding out the filament guide tube

About every other time I change filament I will get a shock when I remove the guide tube from where it connects to the frame. I replaced the stock guide tube with a teflon one which may be the issue. Any ideas on how to ground it out? I have to remove the guide tube because it always hits when I mov...

Clips for the glass plate that Never interfere with the nozzle

Well I did it again. I had a print that nearly filled the plate and the nozzle hit the giant black paper clips on the front of the bed. Made a loud noise and I rushed over to take the clips off. Luckily the printer wasn't affected as far as I can tell. There is no need for that to happen, just small...

Re: Section Marks on buildplate

The marks are on the aluminum plate under the glass. Took a metal ruler and exacto and cut them in. I use both sides of the glass so I did not do anything to it. I wish the aluminum were dk gray.
