Re: Thermal Protector

Thanks, my support ticket was resolved same way.

I was told to match the tab (bulge) on the connector with the silkscreened tab, and things seem to be working right (haven't printed something yet but the extruder will heat up as instructed)

Re: Thermal Protector

Thanks, I'm opening a ticket to confirm. (Thought maybe I late to the party and missing something obvious.)

Re: Thermal Protector

I discovered this topic: http://forum.raise3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6580&start=60 Apparently the key to figuring out the correct polarity is the fact that there is a missing pin on my board header (something I did not realize until I read that topic). This missing pin should match up with ...

Re: Thermal Protector

Hmm, just a note. I am having trouble confirming which orientation the connector should be attached. Figure 7 and Figure 8 on the install document do not appear to be consistent with each other. And the silkscreen on my board is not consistent with what the install document seems to tell me to do. T...

Re: PAUSE feature didn't work on my N2

I did use a raft, I measured from the top surface of the raft (so I didn't count the raft) but maybe I had things wrong. I'll try again and get more data next time.

Re: PAUSE feature didn't work on my N2

I spoke too soon, the printer DID pause just now very near the end of the print but I am unsure if it paused because of the 15.0 mm configured height (it is past 15 mm in the model) or if it finally paused because of my manual instruction. Either way, while it did pause it did not do so as expected....

Re: Shipping rates

Yes, I have ordered spare parts and OUCH the shipping was terrible for a Canadian.

I would love more Raise3D premium PLA filament but the shipping cost is a real barrier.

PAUSE feature didn't work on my N2

I have a 20mm tall model I instructed ideamaker to pause printing at 15.0mm so I could have time to insert things into the inside of the model. It did not pause at 15 mm (it was about at 17 mm) and kept printing like normal. It has just about finished printing now. I used PAUSE on the touchscreen to...

Re: What exactly does "sparse connection" do?

OK! So "Sparse Connection" works the opposite of what I always thought. It is an option that can be turned on when the connection of supports to the model is sparse; it will increase the connection somewhat without actually modifying the support structure. Important thing to learn, thank y...

Re: Polymaker filament

I see that same kind of shattering happen but only on the free end of the filament, and after a period of storage with it under stress like tightly pulled through the "loose end hole" on spools. I use polymaker as well but mostly PLA of various brands and happens to some extent to all of t...

Re: What exactly does "sparse connection" do?

Thank you for the reply Vicky, but I am left with more questions and don't fully understand. Are you saying Sparse Connection reduces retractions on support material? And this increases the material deposited by a small amount, and the purpose is to increase the bonding and strength a small amount w...

What exactly does "sparse connection" do? (Answered & it's probably opposite of what you think!)

What exactly does the "Sparse Connection" checkbox do? How exactly does it affect support material? I cannot tell from examining the previews of prints. I used to think it meant that the connection between the model and the support was weaker somehow but if it is I cannot tell. I am trying...

That looks amazing. Thanks for sharing, and especially sharing the insights into extreme raft adhesion!

It's a whole different ball game to be in a situation of using super glue to prevent lifting!

Re: Printer Filament Monitor

I am personally trying a much more low-tech solution that simply raises a racket/alarm if the spool runs out. Not as broadly useful but would get the job done. It of course requires you to be within earshot. But if you are, then you should have time to feed a new reel right behind the old one. Usual...

Re: Omg!.. Where is Ripley from ALIEN to help!!!

I finished assembling mine! It's not painted yet but looks really good. The body and tail were printed at 0.2mm height with default 0.4mm nozzle, but I printed the rest of the parts raftless at 0.4mm layers with 0.8mm nozzle and printing goes much, much faster and with less waste. Obviously the piec...

I can see I need to work on my supports tweaking - I would be happy if the support-touching side of MY prints looked that good! If that's poor then I have a lot of work to do.

Re: Tried to print without raft, nozzle plowed into bed. What am I missing?

I did some tests (first by adding some spacers/shims to the top of the Z adjustment screw, just in case) and I have concluded that either a glitch or some other thing happened to mess up the Z zero when my original problem happened. I can't replicate the problem, so whatever happened that led to it ...

Wow, that's some astounding detail. Thanks for sharing your detailed settings - I haven't tried PC-Max yet (but I have a spool), your experience will be very helpful to me when I do use it!

Re: No skirt, no brim, no raft

I have learned a few new things. The original problem I described cannot be replicated but I have found something else I can replicate. First of all, I'll restate my original problem: I usually force adding the Skirt along with a Raft. I disabled Force Skirt when I made a recent print that went to t...
