very helpful thread, thanks to everyone who has contributed. the bondtech upgrade is great and has been working really good except one little issue. when the printer does small gap fills on a part the extruder tends to click/skip. this also happens when printing small circumference circles like pin...

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

would bent x and y rods affect the BLTouch from being able to level properly. I have tried 16 probe points all the way to 49 and it still doesn't seem leveled all the way, I still get spots that are too low or to close. I know the BLTouch is working because I can see the z rods moving as the printhe...

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

Ok, Ive got the BL touch installed and wired in. But im not sure what to do about the firmware. I have a custom mount and my sensor is in the front left corner as close to the nozzle as possible. Im sure the firmware from here will not work for my setup and since I cant edit the .firm files I dont ...

perimeter layers not touching each other

In S3D I have done a single perimeter shell test and measured and got it as close as I could to .48mm (between .45 and .47) by changing the extrusion multiplier. But when I do a 4 perimeter shell layer print the perimeter layers do not touch completely or melt together. is there more tuning I can do...

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

ok so the // in front mean it is single head version then. so this part,
// This defines the number of extruders
#ifdef DUAL
#define EXTRUDERS 2
#else
#define EXTRUDERS 1
#endif

means the #define EXTRUDERS 2 gets overlooked and the #define EXTRUDERS 1 is what is read?

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

The firmware is available on the github here https://github.com/Raise3D/Marlin-Raise3D-N-Series You can click on the green button near the top right that says "Clone Or Download" then select Download Zip, this will make you a single file with all the necessary files. You extract the zip i...

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

I wouldnt recommend the average user download the .firm files and upload them to their printer without some knowledge of how this stuff works. You could damage your printer by using an incorrect firmware for their printer. Youre better off working with the actual arduino sketch of the firmware so y...

Re: Bltouch on Raise3d

I've got a N2 single and could really use this! I'm not very good with code and firmware, and was wondering if there will be a step by step sort of thing for someone like myself (quadriplegic) to be able to do this. ive got help from my father to do the physical part and install the bltouch which do...

Re: Extruder hits the bed's metal clip

Another solution is to not use the clips at all. instead use thermal pads to stick the glass down to the metal heated plate, this will do away with the risk of collision and also the glass will not be forced to bend to the imperfect metal plate and the glass will remain flatter. This is what I use,...

Re: print head tight and difficult to move - N2

Ok thank you, that clears things up for me I appreciate it. So one more quick question, by loosening the rear and right bearing block will this take care of tightness issues anywhere in the rods or will I have to do the front and left bearing block to take care of let's say the front right corner. T...

Re: print head tight and difficult to move - N2

Thanks again for the help Jetguy. Just to be completely sure I'm on the same page and fully understand, is this the bearing blocks your talking about. I have a feeling I might be wrong. I know the pic is of the left side, the led strip made it hard to take a pic of the right one
