Re: IdeaMaker Supports so close together?

I never use pillars smaller than 4mm, I like to use 8mm and have some bridging since support pillar falls are frequently fatal to the prints

Re: IdeaMaker Supports so close together?

fwiw I always place supports manually, EXCEPT for large flat areas, since it is so dependent on material temperature and geometry

Re: Auto stop when finished print + bent shaft

my shaft was bowed, not bent as the pulley alignment was off! Once I realigned it, it sprang back straight!

you may also benefit from increasing the extrusion temperature by 10C

need a log book. The offset changes every time you change nozzles too.

some of that is unavoidable, center will always bulge up some when heated as its always a bit warmer than the sides

ouch! Submit help ticket, this may be involved and you'll need new glass. We all get head strikes occasionally but this looks bad.

Re: Wall of shame prints (print failures)

Here is one that was actually a success but looked to be a failure: printing 2 color flexible filament you MUST use wipewall:

Re: Wall of shame prints (print failures)

The bigger the spool, the bigger the problems with friction, Pulling off to side jammed the filament into the edge of the wind

Re: Bad adhesion of Buildtak

May I suggest an elegant solution that John mentioned a while back: accept that ABS (and nylon) will always warp to some extent. Design 1-2mm thick tabs that extend out the base of your print to the sides and clip the print in place. after the first 1-2mm is complete pause the print and apply the cl...

makes you wonder if you had a headstrike to put out that much force. If you use PLA a lot, insulating the hot-end really helps

Re: Spool Holder for N2

I will see if I can get a copy of the roller bearing sleeve one of the guys made up. I am going to go with a big version and wall mount my huge rolls of filament - suddenly friction becomes a really big deal!
