One suggestion, look and see and make a note of where the fans connect to the breakout board and then UNPLUG them before working on the hotend. It is so very easy to slip and ruin a fan when removing those fan screws
another tip, especially with a curved bottom surface, is lift the entire model at least 10mm in Z and completely cover it with support, This way the support is at least 10mm thick and is more stable than the short supports people often make.
one trick is to use a raft if using support and lift the whole model 1cm so the support is continuous under the model. This actually makes it easier to remove (short support is a bear) and makes for a better surface as there is less rocking of the model while printing.
if you are getting gaps you may need to set extrude extra on restart or something like that. I had to use about 1mm when printing petg at lower temperatures after it retracted - test using retraction tests.
