Re: problem with spiral vase mode

check again, that is a layer change to test do the test cube, increase Z ht to something like 6cm, print 1 outer shell 0 inner shell 1 bottom and 0 top layers in vase mode. You may have been hit by the persistent bug in ideamaker where often settings you select aren't applied/ remembered until you h...

Re: Changing a second model into a support

I occasionally model my own support - usually a tree and branch structure. You nee a program that can do mesh editing (like Blender) and you just start by extruding and tapering the faces that need support and taper all these branches, bring together into a central "trunk" and extrude down...

Re: How to use ninjaflex and onkly get topless results

This is the MOST DIFFICULT filament there is to print, You must play with the settings quite a bit. TIPS: you MUST unload , snip off the bent parts and reload for every print even if it is just a few minutes after the last print. NO retraction! Left nozzle only (yes I have dual extruded with flexibl...

Re: Clogging during a print

black junk can be ash from dust sticking to filament. It is burned up in hotend but won't pass through. Try removing nozzle, heat to cherry red with a propane torch, blow out all the ash and send a tiny wire through the nozzle before replacing.

Re: Brittle filament tips ?

Sometimes you have to give up and throw it away. I didn't, filament broke, sat cooking in hotend all night. COMPLETE isolation tube jam. 2 hour complete hotend tear down to fix and just hope you don't break your isolation tube at the heatbreak!

Re: Some suggestions regarding support structure display & camera control

yeh I just had to do a complete tear down for an isolation tube clog. Not fun. Caused by bad filament breaking so sitting cooking in hotend all night!! So I give you experimental proof that leaving the hotend on is a BAD idea!

Re: Day 1: Board error: Error 1: Extruder switched off. MINT...

the question is why are your fans so oud??? Mine are very quiet! I strongly suggest that you replace the fans, they are inexpensive and you don't have to thread the connector wire, just let it hang down or zip tie to the other cables.

Re: How to perform a nozzle change correctly ?

It MUST be done hot. Personally, I think it is safer to do it while in the cold end. TIP: find a medium sized pair of vicegrip pliers, tape thin (1/8") strips of wood to the heads using Kapton tape. Then you can use these to dial in the right amount of force to hold the hotend and keep it from ...

Re: cant get hot end grub screws out with allan key and bottom section twisting

Yeh I have this problem too. First go buy yourself a set of High quality tiny allen wrenches, the ones that come with the machine aren't of high enough quality to take out these hardened screws. Second, the set screws they use are WAY TOO SHORT! especially the screw for the thermocouple. (BUT a long...

I have asked repeatedly for the API, so far, no response. All of our other printers at the makelab are networked. It would be really nice to have the Raise 3d communicate with the server!

Funny, I rather like the rotate with holding own the ctrl since that is how its done in most 3-d modelling programs

Joacjim, I have noticed that sometimes but not others, it sometimes doesn't "stick" unless you hit enter/ save on that page - which means that you must go back into advanced again after you set temperature and continue the rest of your edits.

Re: Oozing, Retraction lines

yes retraction is complicated and is different for different filaments and different temperatures. To test retraction I make 3 cones and space them out about 1 inch apart, print 1 shell, no fill then start tweaking the retraction. If its oozing all over then its likely that you extrusion temperature...

Re: New heat shield design

I still think you will want to insulate the top of the heatblock since the isolation tube fan exhaust is blowing on that too.
