Re: pivot changing

One trick for placing supports is to add them from the underneath view - looking up at the model.

Re: Ninjaflex Tips ?

the biggest additional help is 1) place filament on a holder above the printer and try not to use ANY guide tubes except a short length at the top of the cold end 2) unload, trim the kink and reload IMMEDIATELY before printing, letting it sit for even 5 minutes after loading will result in a kink in...

make sure that the heater and thermocouples are held tightly. Also may want to take some fine wire and wire a thermocouple directly to the groove of the threads at the top of the nozzle.

I've also had this happen from bad filament where the diameter slowly changes over 10's of meters.

Silly: YouTube vid of drunk guys trying to remove support from a helmet?

OK totally silly request but a few years ago there was a vid of 2 guys removing stuck on support from the inside of a full sized iron man helmet. It was taking hours and they kept drinking and getting frustrated and almost destroyed the print trying to get the support out. I can't seem to find the v...

Re: Print problems with TPU on N2 - Completely stumped!

feeder tube drag had me stumped for a month - no feeder tube if possible I just hung up a loop of wire over the bed to keep the filament feeding. Also, unload , trim reload and print immediately. If it sits clamped down in the cold end for a minute, the filament will pick up a kink. It also seemed t...

Re: Different Infill percentage

I sometimes model in support and fill. I really do prefer the tree type support option that s3d has when having to fill a large area, like the inside of a helmet but you have to model it by hand for now.

I still worry that will damage the aluminum. I just get it hot and wipe off with paper towels then finally a cloth rag. I also replace nozzles every 6-12 months. One reason I insulate the hotblock is that when I really make a mess, I just peel off the tape and insulation and do it again.

Re: Touch screen stops working after few minutes

You don't really need to ground the machine, ground floating is OK but you need to touch the end of one of one of the uncoated screws that hold the plexiglass on before the touch screen. FWIW one spot on my touch screen is dead. See if there are parts that work and parts that don't. I should probabl...

Re: Dual head print shifted in Y

no its much easier than that. Go into ideamaker and use "freecut" to slice off the top few layers to print. you should also add wipewall, you may want to print only 4 at a time to test. My best guess is that your z on the nozzles is off, one is much lower, put a piece of paper underneath a...

you might not be able to print a flexible with that tiny nozzle, you are the first I've heard try it, most go with a wider nozzle if anything. Let us know what you find out.

Re: Clogging during a print

I'm afraid that all printer clog eventually. There are a lot of variables that are difficult to get straight and things change with time, eg even a roll of PLA sitting on your printer will gradually absorb moisture from the air.

Bug: Support extended through wall

I have noticed junk on the inside of some prints. I think a portion of this is errors in generating support in Ideamaker where external support is extended into the inside. Here You can see the problem clearly and it does show up in the layer view of the sliced file, see the light blue support trace...
